Chris Krug, MSPT
Physical Therapist
Director of Rehab Services

Chris has been the Director of Rehab Services since the Rehabilitation Sports Medicine department of Santa Rosa Orthopaedics opened in 2004.

He received his BA in Biology with college honors from UC Santa Cruz in 1991 and graduated with an MS in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific in 1994.  Chris has extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy techniques and orthopedic exercise progressions with emphasis on shoulder, knee and low back injuries.  He has additional training in the evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries.  Chris has also been very involved in the clinical education of physical therapy students throughout his career.

Chris worked as a staff physical therapist in sports and orthopedic clinics in Oakland and Las Vegas before moving to Santa Rosa in 2001.  He has worked with professional athletes including basketball players from the Golden State Warriors, acrobats and dancers from Cirque du Soleil, EFX, and Lord of the Dance, as well as college and high school athletes. 

Chris lives in Santa Rosa with his wife and two children.  He stays active with basketball, hiking, and coaching.

Pat Hall, PT
PT Honors Graduate of Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY
BS PT

Pat has been practicing physical therapy for 31 years, and had extensive experience in acute hospital rehabilitation and management before focusing in the area of outpatient orthopedic therapy.  She joined the staff at Santa Rosa Orthopedics /Rehabilitation at its inception in 2004. 

Pat enjoys working with people of all ages and loves assisting patients' return to sport, work and leisure activity.  She believes strongly in the importance of patient education and correction of posture and body mechanics in maximizing functional recovery.  She has been a Clinical Instructor for students from a variety of PT  programs.

Pat is an avid runner and hiker and enjoys spending free time with her family.

Tom Sather, Ph.D., PT

Tom is a knowledgeable therapist with twenty-nine years of orthopedic and sports medicine experience. Tom graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Arizona, then completed a Master of Arts degree in Physical Therapy from Stanford University.

After several years in the profession he re-entered graduate school at the University of Arizona and completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree studying the science of Exercise Physiology. He has been an adjunct instructor in the masters program in Athletic Training at the University of Arizona as well as teaching Cardiovascular Rehabilitation in the physical therapy curriculum at Northern Arizona University. More recently he has been an instructor for the University of San Francisco's campus in Santa Rosa teaching Health Care Finance. He has presented papers and been published in Exercise and Sports Sciences.

Tom works with Sonoma State University as a liaison between SRO's rehabilitation services and the Athletic Training Center at Sonoma State University. He volunteers his time assisting Empire Volleyball Club with injury prevention programs. He has also been the Chairperson of the Puma Athletic Committee at Maria Carrillo High School where he also volunteers with athletic programs.

Physical Therapy Assistants  

Michael Serrano, PTA
Graduate of Western Institute of Science and Health, class of 1999 with the degree of Associate of Science.

Michael is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with experience in in-patient as well as out-patient rehab.  He joined Santa Rosa Orthopaedic Medical Group in 2005.  Previously he worked for Healdsburg District Hospital and contributed to the start of a satellite physical therapy office.  Michael also gained experience working as a Medicare Coordinator and Occupational Health coordinator for Healthsouth of Santa Rosa.
Michael is fluent in Spanish, aiding in the successful treatment of members of the hispanic community.

As a husband and a father of two, Michael enjoys dedicating time to his family, writing and recording music as well as various outdoor activities.

Julie Mickelson, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant

Julie, a native of Novato, found her path to Physical Therapy the night she and twelve of her friends were in a horrific car accident. She sustained a broken neck (C2 and C3), shoulder, arm, ribs, pelvis, and ankle. She knows first hand the hard work it takes to rehabilitate and overcome adversities and is proof of the benefits of her chosen occupation. Julie traveled extensively through Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia & Vietnam and worked as a personal trainer and aerobics instructor at Club Med.

Julie came back to the states and graduated from Western Institute of Science and Health as a physical therapist's assistant. She began her career at St. Helena Physical Therapy where she worked with a wide variety of patients ranging from ages 5 to 90 treating stroke patients, head injuries, and amputees as well as total joint replacements.  Julie is certified in Strain Counter Strain treatment for both limbs and the spine.  After ten years at St. Helena Physical Therapy, she is happy to have joined the Santa Rosa Orthopedics staff.

When not at work Julie enjoys being physically active and spending time with her husband and their beautiful daughter Kaia Jazz.

Physical Therapy Aides  
Lesley Bagley, CSCS
Physical Therapy Aide
Graduate of Sonoma State University class of 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist 2002 from the National Strength and Conditioning Association

Lesley is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who has been working in the field of physical therapy and strength training for the past seven years.  Previously she worked at Futures Rehab where she was a physical therapy aide and administered pre-employment testing.  Currently she aides in the rehabilitation of patients at Santa Rosa Orthopaedics as well as training athletes and sports teams in strength, agility, and sport specific activities.

Lesley enjoys being active and participating in sports.  She is currently the quarterback for the Santa Rosa Scorchers Women's Professional Football Team and plays on an indoor soccer team.
