Jennifer Henshaw-LeFever, OTR/L, CHT, PA
Jennifer is a licensed Occupational Therapist and nationally certified Hand Therapist. She earned her degree in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State in 1982, was elected to the American Society of Hand Therapists in 1986 and became Nationally certified as a Hand Therapist in 1991. She has worked in Hand Therapy in clinics in San Jose, Santa Rosa and Sonoma. She graduated from the Physician Assistant program at Stanford Medical Centre and was licensed and Certified as a Physician Assistant in 1994, and worked in that capacity in family practice before returning to Hand Therapy in 1999. She joined Santa Rosa orthopaedics in November 2005.
Jennifer has broad experience in Hand Therapy with strong evaluation and treatment skills enhanced by her training as a Physician Assistant. She enjoys the proximity, communication and collaboration with the Physicians at SRO and finds it the ideal environment for providing effective care for the patients.
When not pursuing her Hand Therapy career, Jennifer enjoys learning about gardening, being a home improvement DIY’er, furniture refinishing and going on field trips with her son.
Bruce Kolman, OTR/L, CHT
Bruce is a graduate or Temple University with a degree in Occupational Therapy as well as a Certified Hand Therapist. Bruce has been specializing in the evaluation and treatment of the upper extremity for over 20 years. He has an advanced training and extensive experience in the treatment of orthopaedic and neurological conditions in the upper extremity including, the fabrication of custom splints for the hand and arm, joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and the use of modalities. Bruce has been an integral member of SRO’s care team since 2009.
Besides his Hand Therapy work, Bruce is best known as Debbie’s husband and the father of 2 sets of twins. He is also a Mac computer geek, music fan, and amateur photographer.
Cynthia Syiek MA,OTR/L,CHT
Cynthia graduated with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California in 1984 following graduation from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst in 1980 where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services/Counseling. She has worked as an occupational therapist since 1982, became credentialed as a hand therapist in 2006 and is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists. Cynthia has pursued a career as a Certified Hand Therapist since that time.
Cynthia comes to SRO from St. Joseph’s Health Care/Memorial Hospital Outpatient Clinic in Sebastopol, CA where she worked as an Occupational/Hand Therapist. Her expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of specialties focused on treating all hand and elbow diagnoses and injuries and in treating general shoulder and brachial plexus disorders. She is also skilled at fabricating custom static and dynamic orthotics.
When not pursuing her Hand Therapy career enjoys spending time in the outdoors kayaking, hiking, biking, playing pickle ball and gardening. Above all Cynthia believes that helping patients to achieve an improved state of health contributes to her both professionally and personally.
Sarah Sizemore, OTR, L
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Kansas, in Occupational Therapy. She was a Certified Hand Therapist for 35 years, and now practices solely through her Hand Specialist designation through her O. T. license in California. Treatment of complex hand injuries of an orthopedic, trauma and neurological basis are within her scope of care intervention. She has worked in out patient, in patient and school settings, treating patients from one day old to 100 years old.
Outside of work, interests include designing of interiors, gardens, painting, music, swimming, yoga, my dog and entertaining.
